Taking place over a 3-day period, the show was the ideal setting for us to introduce Dovetail Training to visitors and delegations of all kinds. The hall was shared with the Facilities Management and the Fire Safety Shows, providing us with a variety of platforms from which to build our business over the course of the week. We were pleased to be able to meet with potential clients from a variety of sectors, from local governments to Facilities Management & Construction companies like our own. More on that later!
The concept for our stand was devised and implemented by our Business Development team and our marketing partners Cullen & Cullen Creative, who also had a constant presence on our stand, assisting our sales team by identifying leads and managing the data collected. Our core aim was to create a modern and engaging stand showcasing Dovetail Training’s unique selling points, such as our latest-on-the-market training technology used at our training facility, like our QCPR dolls. Visitors to our stand were able to use our QCPR dolls, with their efforts displayed in real time on a 4K screen and tablets. Many delegates to the show had never seen this technology before and were impressed by the training applications it presented. We also ran a giveaway competition throughout the show, with a fun cube game offered to visitors to our stand with a chance to win free & discounted Dovetail Training courses and other goodies like champagne. This, together with our demonstration area, proved to be a massive draw to our stand, and our sales team did a great job turning that interest into some fantastic leads….
We have had positive follow up meetings with potential clients such as GKN Drivelines, Bombardier, Rainford Solutions, where we are offering bespoke workplace Health & Safety training and shop floor machinery risk assessing. And we were able to generate a large amount of Facilities Management interest, with meetings coming up at NSPCC, Majestic Wines & The Co-Op, and most recently Dovetail Group have come aboard with Powerleague after meeting their Facilities Manager at the show, and attending a subsequent meeting at their head offices at Wembley Stadium. We are now delivering a large volume of work at 21 of their 5-a-side sites, with a view of delivering a national service in the near future.
One final positive note is the news that we were voted in the top 10 stands at the whole exhibition, with the NEC marketing team soon to put out a press release about Dovetail and the others shortlisted. Considering we delivered the design and fabrication all in-house using Dovetail tradesmen is a huge source of pride for all involved.
