FIFM - Mechanical & Electrical

Dovetail Group successfully tendered for the Mechanical & Electrical contract, encompassing all non-tenanted space within the building and its surrounding area.

Friars House is a prominent, 11 storey comprehensively refurbished office building in the heart of Coventry City Centre & adjacent to the Friargate Development, a 1.5 billion re-generation scheme which provides more than 3 million square feet of offed led mixed-use developments. The development now links Coventry Train Station to the City Centre and provides large open public spaces and landscaped areas creating a modern and functional environment to live and work.

The building consists of 13,760 sqm2 of available office space, and is currently under the management of our client, FIFM.

In 2019, Dovetail Group successfully tendered for the Mechanical & Electrical contract, encompassing all non-tenanted space within the building and its surrounding area.

Structuring the contract with a mixture of self-delivered and sub-contracted M&E works, over the last 12 months we have been able to achieve a marked increase in building compliance and work closely with FIFM with the planning and implementation of other upgrades to the building.

Our Reactive & Building Maintenance dept also offer a 24/7 emergency response service for all non-contracted maintenance needs.

The works were completed to schedule, with fantastic results, & we have since been awarded an additional and far more extensive programme which is due to commence in March 2020.

Derek boasts nearly 30 years electrical experience, and a career involving work as both a specialist electrical contractor and project manager across all sectors, including oversees military contracts. Since 2018, Derek has overseen Dovetails growing M&E division, and is a passionate line manager committed to the development of engineers and apprentices of all skills levels in his dept.

Operating as a Facilities manager, both as a buyer and supplier, Claire has increased the expertise in our facilities department immeasurably since joining in 2019. NEBOSH qualified, and experienced in the management of large facilities, Claire is a conscientious and technically capable addition to our team, focusing on the delivery of our multiple TFM contracts.
